Room 14 Tm2 Wk1 Day 4 20th April

Nina spent a good 90 minutes this morning on the measuring and drawing of her bedroom. She and her mum talked about if they could draw it “real life” size and then talked about scale. (Drawing her mum's phone “real size, the half size, then quarter size etc).  Nina decided the room needed to be ten times smaller (which made for easier maths!)

Below are the pics of:
1. Her steps
2. Her room measurements sheet (including rounding to nearest ten and dividing by ten)
3. Her final drawing at a 1:10 scale.

Fantastic maths exercise - Nina loved it.

Thanks for sharing, Nina! I would love to see blueprints of other people's rooms, too!

Nina combined her reading and writing challenge. Her reading challenge was to write down al the words she didn’t know in two books she was reading. Her writing challenge was to then make a story using those words. The books were a mash up between sea mammals and camels so it makes for quite a story! 😆👍

Sophie has made a delicious triple chocolate chip brownie! Yum! There are so many calculations involved in baking.

Abbey has drawn a map of her bedroom and planned challenges for herself to read, write, and help at home. So organised, Abbey! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, Isla has been putting her skills to work and has built a robot out of boxes! Very earth-friendly art, and symmetrical too!
