Room 11 Tuesday 21st April

Magical Math

Sophie has found a recipe for shortbread and has doubled the given ingredients so that she can make twice as many biscuits in one go. Do you think you'll give this recipe a go?

Sophie's new recipe

Sophie's How Close to Hundred?

Leo told me he had a really good time with his brother playing the Hogwarts Escape Room. Here he is designing a maze and turning it into reality!

Leo is the maze master

Wonderful Writing

DANGER DANGER. Leo describes a time with his family when he thought Mt Eden was erupting!
The big title with the giant exclamation marks really give us a sense that something scary is happening!

I didn't know Sami was a pirate, but here she is writing to me about her upcoming treasure quest to Ruby Island. She has made the letter extra authentic by giving herself a pirate name, making the paper look extra old and using some pirate slang!

Archie has also written a very exciting story. He wants to share this with the class on Zoom tomorrow. Here is a sneak peak of what he has written- I hope you make it out alive Archie!
I also like you have dropped us right in the middle of the action with your opening sentence.

In Other News:

Willa did some leaf weaving. She first had to use scissors to cut them into even strips before she could weave them.

Leo's update on his carrots. Is the one on the right starting to sprout?

Leo has also went out into the garden and drawn a lovely collection of some one plants in his garden. My favourite is the spiky cactus. What's yours?

  1. Another great day Room 11 - what a variety of learning you've all been doing. Weaving, writing, maths, drawing - I want to find out more about the Harry Potter escape room, sounds fun!

  2. Yeah for doubles, Sophie! Leo, that Hogwarts Escape Room was such a blast, wasn't it? A great challenge. It's exciting seeing those carrots grow. I look forward to the next update!
