Room 14 Home Learning Day 2

Leo has been experimenting with Number of the Day in a lot of different ways. He drew images to explain his thinking and even came up with a real life scenario to represent 18 minus 9... Haha, I wonder who ate the biscuits! Finally, Leo has also put windowsills for the hunt. He says “hopefully they don’t go on a walk about!” :) Thanks for the creativity and the humour, Leo.

Meanwhile, Ruby and her brother Eli have been up to all sorts of fun and spending real quality time with their family, which is so important. They also shared:

In terms of our home learning, we started out with extending our knowledge of fractions with play dough and have been working on telling the time. We did number of the day today as well.

We have also been doing lots of reading and writing. Ruby has been writing up a storm - recipes, stories, lists etc. We have also finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and are on to the sequel, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.

Thanks for sharing, Ruby and Eli!

Cory has been doing maths, writing and drawing, making huts and exercising with the family. He is happy spending time with his brothers. Here are some photos of him drawing and doing maths. :) Thanks, Cory, glad you’re settling well!

Here’s another positive affirmation from Keanu! 😍 I’m loving that you’re thinking each day about something you are proud of. Check out this basketball hoop - really flexible thinking!

  1. Great work from Room 14!

Leo, I like the way you were able to link Math to food. That's my kind of math.

Ruby and Eli, it's nice to know you're spending quality time with family! This is the perfect time for it.

Cory I really like the picture of your dog/animal.

Ruby and Eli, good to hear that you're brushing up on your fractions with playdough. Fun!

Cory, you sound like you're making the most of the your time. Now I'm curious to see what your huts looked like.

  6. Keanu...there could be hours of fun with that bucket and that tree and that rope and that thinking you did....was it luck or did you plan it first? How will you get the ball down once you throw it and make your first goal? I like your swings....they're cool.
